Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 August 2026
1. Overview
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of VocabPath at vocabpath.com and related apps, content, and paid subscriptions (the “Service”). By creating an account, starting a trial, or paying for a subscription, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (“CCR”).
2. Who we are
The Service is provided by Lurn Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), trading as VocabPath, company number 05165970, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 2nd Floor, Holt Court, 16 Warwick Row, Coventry, CV1 1EJ, United Kingdom. See also About / company details.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be able to form a binding contract where you live.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms and supervise use of the Service.
- Keep your login details secure and tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.
- Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
4. The Service
VocabPath provides vocabulary learning tools (for example quests, practice, progress tracking, and related content). Features may change as we improve the product. We do not guarantee any particular exam result or learning outcome.
5. Trials, subscriptions and payments
Paid access (“VocabPath Plus” or similar) is billed on a recurring basis. The current standard price is £7.99 per month, charged in advance for each billing period unless we state otherwise at checkout. Prices include VAT where applicable.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe and us to charge your chosen payment method for the initial period and each renewal until you cancel.
- If a free trial is offered, we will tell you the trial length and what happens when it ends before you provide payment details.
- We may change prices with reasonable prior notice. The new price applies from the next renewal after the notice period unless you cancel.
- Failed payments may lead to suspension or termination of paid access until payment succeeds.
6. How to cancel your subscription
You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account billing settings, or by emailing support@vocabpath.com from the address on your account. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, unless a refund applies under section 7.
7. Your 14-day cancellation right (UK consumers)
If you are a consumer and buy a subscription online, the CCR usually give you a 14-day cooling-off period from the day the contract is concluded to cancel without giving a reason.
Digital content / online service. VocabPath Plus is an online digital service. If you ask us to start the Service during the cooling-off period (for example by starting a paid subscription or continuing after a trial that converts to a charge), then:
- you acknowledge that the Service begins during the cancellation period; and
- if you cancel within 14 days after paying, you may be entitled to a pro-rata refund for the unused part of the billing period, or as otherwise required by the CCR for the supply of digital content/services.
To exercise the cooling-off right, email support@vocabpath.com with your account email and the words “Cancel contract” (or cancel in-product if available). We will confirm and process any refund to the original payment method without undue delay and within 14 days of being informed of the cancellation, as required by law.
After the cooling-off period, subscriptions are generally non-refundable for the current billing period once paid, except where UK law requires otherwise (for example if the Service is faulty).
8. Acceptable use
- Do not break the law or infringe others’ rights.
- Do not attempt unauthorised access, scraping that harms the Service, or reverse engineering except as permitted by law.
- Do not share account credentials or misuse the Service for spam or abuse.
9. Intellectual property
The Service (including content, software, and branding) is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal learning while your account is in good standing. You must not copy or redistribute our content except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit (for example notes or feedback). You grant us a licence to host and process it only as needed to run and improve the Service.
11. Disclaimers
We aim to keep the Service available and useful, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Learning outcomes vary. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that UK law does not allow us to exclude for consumers (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
12. Liability
Subject to your non-excludable statutory rights, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for that period (or £50 if you have paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, except where UK law says otherwise.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access if you seriously breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where practicable). You may stop using the Service and cancel as described above at any time.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. UK consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of the part of the UK where they live. You may also use the UK’s Alternative Dispute Resolution options or the European ODR platform where applicable for cross-border issues.
Complaints: email support@vocabpath.com. We will try to resolve issues promptly.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified on the site or by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, except where your consent is required by law.
